Eschenbach's belated ( it has taken more than a decade ) defection to the winning side in the thermodynamics wars may be related less to the Sky Dragon die off than advances in computer  graphics in undergraduate physics teaching  that have rendered the undeniable too obvious to deny:

and embaces Eschenbach's Law of Radiative Equilibrium:
