THE LIMA ADAPTATION KNOWLEDGE INITIATIVE
Thank you Chair for the opportunity to update SBSTA on the progress in the implementation...to identify and prioritise adaptation knowledge gaps at the sub-regional level...to catalyse action to fill the prioritized knowledge gaps.
Following the endorsement of LAKI by the COP President at COP 20, SBSTA, at its 41st session encouraged the implementation of the initiative in other subregions, particularly in vulnerable developing countries, such as the LDCs. . . adaptation experts identified and prioritized 16 adaptation knowledge gaps in the course of the workshop. They then characterized the deliverables that would fill those gaps and identified the institutions that could contribute to the production of those deliverables. UNEP together with the secretariat will now be working with those institutions to catalyse the necessary action. Experts and institutions working in these subregions are invited to consider these priority knowledge gaps and incorporate relevant actions into their plan of work to close these priority knowledge gaps.

The entire proceedings are webcast, so fly into Le Bourget, put your laptop in your saddle bag, and get a zero emission horse to join the indigenous people of Normandy in prioritizing the production of sub-regional calvados deliverables, and catalyzing action against the relevant adaptation knowledge gaps of hunt saboteurs and the weekending Parisian climate bores who compete with the region's real boars for the title of the ugliest customers in the neighborhood.
