                                    THE  FLIP  OF  THE  ICEBERG

ON A  CLEAR DAY UNDERWATER, YOU'RE LUCKY  TO SEE  FOR  FIFTY FEET
This limited visibility makes seeing, let alone photographing, anything larger than a whale in a single view probematic.

It took Victor Pallestra's team of divers from the Dumont d’Urville scientific  base in  East Antarctica   three days working in the frigid waters offshore to  choreograph this award-winning montage of an iceberg, stitched  together from 147 separate shots.
