In 2007 Rush Limbaugh announced he had proof positive that Global Warming was a hoax and to prove it read on the air excerpts from a scientific paper published in The Journal of Geoclimatic Studies entitled:
Carbon dioxide production by Benthic Bacteria:
the death of manmade global warming theory?
Wowed by pages of equations written in Cyrillic spiced with Thai, like:
4δ 161x Λ³ Ж ญ 5,6,1,8Φ-4 = {( Σ Ψ² Њ yt²/3 -14 ๖ P9) x 49}/2β x ⅜ kxgt-§
the innumerate polymath pronounced seven pages of pure gibberish to be "very convincing" scientific proof that climate change arises not from people burning fossil fuel, but bacteria rudely burping CO2 on the seabed.
The next day, Limbaugh's long suffering science guy, University of Alabama climatologist Roy Spencer , posted this memo:
RE: GLOBAL WARMING STUDY HOAX
Yesterday (11/7/07), a "research study" was circulating on the internet which claimed to have found the "real" reason for global warming.
Even though... the paper looked genuine ... the authors, research center, and even the scientific journal the study was published in
did not exist.
I sent an e-mail to Rush about the issue regarding the hoax, with a copy of the "research study." Unfortunately... he thought that I was calling global warming a hoax, rather than the study.

May he rest in a cooler clime than the one he left behind.
