Mark Steyn has long cried foul at Senator Tim Wirth and scientist Jim Hansen for having the temerity to announce the political advent of global warming on a hot day in 1988.
Wirth's oil patch Senate colleagues were not amused when he confessed windows had been opened to amplify the D.C. summer heat:

January in the nation's capital is another matter. Steyn came to trial in reasonable hopes of jurors seeing snow and hockey sticks in play on the Potomac, but this year it was not to be.
