                             TRICK OR TREAT FOR UNEPCEF

Social Distance yourself  with Green  Halloween costumes

1.  Al The Anthropocene   Underdog

First come, first served !

Call archivist at the Gore Former Next Presidential library, and be the first to ask to borrow the Underdog costume Al wore to the Halloween party preceding the 2000 election.

2. Rising C Levels

Extinction Rebellion and existential threat fans can attach collars of rising C's to sea blue T-shirts listing US cities that sea level rise of biblical proportions will inundate by 2100.

High end revelers can adorn their Statue of Liberty costumes with fronds of seaweed and solar panels to power energy-efficient Liberty's new  LED torch

3. Snorri The Snorkeling Polar Bear

A-list climate deniers may don white pants, shirt & gloves. Sew ears on white ski cap. Apply black shoe polish to tip of nose, unless Pierre Trudeau has been invited, and accessorize with snorkel, goggles,  and inner tube.

Dress children identically, and equip with "Cub at risk" placards

4. Batmange

Put cliche' Draculas  to shame with a costume far more terrifying. Recycle a broken black umbrella into bat wings & ears, and glue cotton to nose to convey rhe horror of the warming-driven fungal white-nose mange syndrome that has  decimated batcaves in nine states, and threatens massive crop losses through falling guano supplies.

5. The Greenwashing Hulk

Paint face green after donning Hulk-style ripped shirt over sumo suit. Carry green paint can & paintbrush with "Eco-friendly" and "100% Retarded Materials" labels.

B-list climate deniers may be able to pull this look off without  makeup.

SILENT SPRING HOPES DAWN WITH SWAMP ASH CRASH

Climate Change Hits Rock and Roll as Prized Guitar Wood Shortage Looms
Flooding and a wood-boring beetle threaten supplies of storied
“swamp ash”

By  on

Once cheap and readily available, swamp ash became an integral part of Fender’s DNA over the decades, says Mike Born, former director of wood technology at the company. But earlier this year an acute shortage forced Fender to announce it would move away from using swamp ash in its famous line of Stratocasters and Telecasters—reserving the wood for vintage models only.

Fender blamed the dwindling supply on longer periods of climate-fueled flooding along the lower Mississippi—which is endangering saplings and making it harder for lumber companies to reach standing trees—as well as the looming threat of an invasive tree-boring beetle. Another renowned U.S. manufacturer called Music Man raised similar sourcing concerns in 2019, which the company described as having “one of the worst harvests in recent history.”

Waking Up Politicians Across The Country

WHY ARE YOUNG PEOPLE INTERRUPTING THE SLEEP OF LOCAL POLITICIANS?

Because it works.

Believe it or not, these tactics are over a century old, inspired by the Wide Awakes, a pro-abolition mass youth movement in the 1860s (right before the Civil War) who turned anti-abolition representatives’ lives into waking nightmares by banging pots and pans outside their windows.

VISCOUNT MONCKTON DEIFIES DEAD CLIMATE SKEPTIC AND DAMNS DOWSING DENIALISM AS COMMUNIST PLOT

Professor Nils-Axel Mörner, 1938-2020

By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley...

Nils-Axel Mörner ... knew more about sea level than did Poseidon himself ; one could see how passionate he was about seeking scientific truth objectively by measurement, observation and the application of previous theory to the results so as to confirm and develop or to overthrow that theory....just a couple of months ago... he wrote asking me to contribute two papers to a new scientific journal that he was setting up. He wanted one paper on What is science and what is not?

The online fake-news outfall Wokipedia, one of whose founders has now publicly admitted that it is wholly in the hands of Communists, has the usual hatchet-job biography for the Professor, devoting more sniffily disapproving prominence to his interest in dowsing for water with hazel twigs
...
my late father ... commissioned...by the Maltese... to find three Punic tombs, armed with two angled steel rods, marched up and down... for half a day...  a fine Punic tomb was found...
Here, then, is the Laughing Angels’ Lullaby, a berceuse en carillon for the concert grand piano, dedicated to the immortal memory of Professor Nils-Axel Mörner. it exploits a powerful soporific technique first developed by the Baroque harpsichordist François Couperin in his Ballet des Moucherons Ecossais to delight the Princes at the court of the Sun King, Louis XIV... A note from the Italian Ambassador at Versailles indicates that the Moucherons, when played live anywhere near a candle flame, silently snuffs it out...  there is some evidence that Gavronsky (Gavreau) and Levasseur, who researched subsonic waveform propagation for the French Army at Marseilles in the 1950s, investigated it... Listen to this piece not only to remember Niklas Mörner but also to get to sleep if you are enduring a bout of insomnia.

                TITANGINOURMOUS CLIMATE PAPER PANNED
                 BY A , B , C AND  D-LIST  SCIENCE JOURNALS

Watts Up With That 17 October

Nature abandons science and

embraces uniformitarian totalitarianism

By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

"Nature [2020 (586), 335] has now openly and finally abandoned any attempt at either scientific or political objectivity. In a scientifically semi-literate editorial, it writes:

“Joe Biden’s trust in truth, evidence, science and democracy make him the only choice in the US election.”

Pass the chunder-bucket, Alice!

Coronavirus has also afflicted his taste in shirts

Ignoring the steaming piles of highly-politicized yah-boo with which the article is soggily laden... have a diagrammatic look at climatology’s clusterfork – an error so titanginormous that it has been hidden... by the Clausius-Clapeyron-mandated increase in specific humidity... the Planck sensitivity ... and the rectangular-hyperbolic response of the system-gain...

Now, Mr Trump ( but not Nature ) knows all this, because I sent a note to him to explain it.

One week later, he took the United States out of the pointless... Paris climate agreement.

my team have been submitting a paper about it to learned journals... The reviewers had failed to land a blow on our paper. They nevertheless rejected it.

I had already consulted a senior police contact after our previous and similarly baseless rejection.

He had advised us to submit the paper thrice and get rejected thrice... then get the fraud squad in.

Once we were ready with our paper, I wrote to Nature ... The editor wrote back promptly to say Nature would not be in the least interested. That response will in due course go to the fraud police...

The world has been lucky to have Mr Trump over the past four years. Let us hope... to have him for another four years, tormenting the Communist Press and entertaining the rest of us while keeping America great and the world free. Nature will hate that. Good.

Monckton survived Mad Covid Disease

And so to the Chinese virus. I have had the virus... And what I have discovered ... will allow the pandemic to cease to have any more harmful effect than the annual flu within a month, if the various profiteering vested interests maintaining the current increasingly absurd global response can be neutralized so as to allow a couple of simple and inexpensive steps to be taken.

Watch this space. It will be worth it."

Delingpole: Study Confirms Donald Trump Is Right– ‘Clean’ Energy Is the Worst

Renewable energy is cripplingly expensive, hopelessly unreliable, massacres wildlife, destroys landscapes, destabilises the grid, harms indigenous peoples, and causes climate change. But apart from that it’s great, says a meticulous review published in the scientific journal Energies by a team of Irish and U.S.-based researchers.

THE ART OF THE CLIMATE DEAL

The Spectator

The art of the presidency

What are the major artworks of the Trump years?

The peaks of Trump’s artistic legacy are a series of rich, unnerving tableaux vivants. Who could forget Trump’s visit to Riyadh in May 2017, when he, King Salman of Saudi Arabia and President Sisi of Egypt were photographed around a lambent globe?

Dramatically underlit by the eldritch orb light, the clustered leaders looked like occultists in an H.P. Lovecraft story, summoning primordial terrors from beyond the stars...

In a still from the UN climate summit of September 2019 that may one day be called ‘The Judgment of the Old World on the New’, Trump strides to another meeting, unaware that he’s being watched by St Greta Thunberg.

She is hatefully eyeballing him in a fuchsia sweater, her arms folded, her hair coiled into a puritan ponytail as tight as her expression. Trump is bronzed, Greta is pale as leprosy. She has the spoon eyes of a hobgoblin that has scampered out of a Bosch painting.

He looks jetlagged.

The standard symbolic take was... the eternal conflict ... Trump standing for plenty — the gold furnishings and walk-in freezers that the global billions aspire to — and Greta standing for pain, a future of bug-eating and zealous recycling in a utopia run by scolds. The still was a portal into the political conflicts that will roil the globe for decades.

HE RAN FOR VALHALLA ON THE CLIMATE CHANGE TICKET

The Emperor of Stones

Digs Sweden Runestone
In the language of the Vikings, Old Norse rök means  “monolith,” and no other runestone stands out from its peers in more ways than Sweden’s Rök. The five-ton stone measures eight feet tall... covered with the longest runic inscription in existence...
“It’s the emperor of runestones,” says Henrik Williams, a runologist at Uppsala University. “Nothing can compare with it." Now a new  interpretation... ties it to a devastating sixth-century climate crisis
The scholars believe the line describes the death of the sun and refers to a period beginning  in  A.D. 536  when a series of volcanic  eruptions  is known to have blocked sunlight for several years, leading to mass starvation...
“We know that there were solar storms that turned the sky red and would have caused very cold summers,” Williams says. “And there was a near-total solar eclipse that would have scared the hell out of people.”
With the threat of a crisis looming, Vamoth is described... as having been cut down before his time in order to help Odin’s army defeat the giants, ensuring that the sun would continue to shine.

'ROID RAGE-MAD COVID DISEASE MISSING LINK FOUND

FOX TV WEATHERMAN MAY HAVE CAUGHT SPONGIFORM 'ROID RAGE ON HANNITY SHOW

     Oct. 8

The Washington Times had this to say about it: ”challenges to the hysterical claims that humans are causing over-the-top climate change... extreme events can be predicted from their previous occurrence, doesn’t that call into question the claim that these events are somehow unusual and now based on human activity?

BYE BYE MANBEARPIG! NEW CLIMATE CONSPIRACY THEORY
FEATURES  WILD BEARS  AND  MAN-EATING  LEOPARDS

Nayanika Mathur Research Fellow, Conspiracy and Democracy Project
Cambridge Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH)

This article traces the introduction of the category of climate change into the Indian Himalaya... If the primary category this article works through is “climate change,” then the second one is “conspiracy theory”...

Conspiracy theories, according to this intuition, are bunk, bogus, irrational, the result of paranoid ideation or, frankly, just weird ”

This... follows Sheila Jasanoff in asking “what is at stake when an impersonal, apolitical, and universal imaginary of climate change, projected and endorsed by science, takes over from the subjective, situated, and normative imaginations of human actors engaging directly with nature”...

Beyond the capacious and descriptive utility of conspiracy theory, I utilize it here given its capacity to vividly express political imaginaries in South Asia...

The man-eating leopards of Chamoli

Chamoli district is severely affected by human-big cat conflict... The state claims that a total of sixty-one deaths were caused over three years by man-eating big cats in Uttarakhand...

The inexplicably aggressive Himalayan black bear

The final case study is that of the Himalayan black bear...these attacks on humans as tragically senseless for they were unprovoked and did not really result in any obvious benefit to the bear... outlining the hegemonic power acquired by “climate change" [As] Mike Hulme puts it (Hulme, M. (2014). Can science fix climate change?) ... “ a resourceful idea and a versatile explanation which can be moulded and mobilised to fulfil a bewildering array of political, social and psychological functions..."

The mortifying  Himalayagate  blunder by the IPCC can be read as yet another manifestation of this now-longstanding narrative of imminent crisis...pulled together by Bruno Latour... to make us rethink capitalism and the writing of history...

In  The Chronicle of Higher Education,
Zoe S. Todd, a HAU contributor with 20,000 Twitter followers says:
"I am proud of the work many have done in [the] last year to dismantle the violences inherent in North Atlantic Anthro as White Public Space, as a structure of deep colonial capitalist reproduction,”

On the other hand, The Chronicle cautions that:

"Some within HAU... argued that this was all a witch hunt."
